Since Monday, February 15, 2016, the dispute resolution platform (Online Dispute Resolution - ODR) of the European Commission came into online. This platform allows consumers and traders to resolve their differences online for domestic and cross-border transactions.

Basically it is the creation of an extrajudicial dispute resolution method (a kind of "friendly settlement"), where the consumer wants to make a complaint about a consumer good or service purchased online.

The Electronic Dispute Resolution platform is connected directly with the competent bodies Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), which assume the handling of complaints in order to solve a simpler, faster and less expensive way than going to court. In our country the Competent Bodies are the Consumer Ombudsman and the Ombudsman for Banking - Investment Services.
